Obituary

Tony Leroy Marion was born in Sarasota, Florida January 20, 1948, to the late Willie and Fredricka Marion. Shortly after his birth they relocated to Fort Lauderdale for better opportunity where Tony became the eldest of four children (Yvonne, Valorie, and Sonya).

At an early age Tony joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church where he attended Sunday School and Baptist Training Union (BTU) on a weekly basis. Tony enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to old school music, and watching sports on TV.  He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help others.

Tony attended Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale and earned a GED through the Parks Job Corps near Pleasanton, California. Tony excelled at basketball until several college recruiters sought to enroll him in their programs. Instead, Tony chose to return home and start his own business, “All Clean Cleaning Services.” Later, he became the Head Supervisor for the Maintenance Department of Broward County Schools. Tony loved his family and friends and had a generous spirit.

In victory, Tony peacefully departed this life and entered eternal rest Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories with his children: Ericka Yvette Vernon “Chubby” of Ft. Belvoir, VA, Deidre Fredricka Marion “Peanut” of Ft. Lauderdale, Wendy Joy Hall “Mama” of Hinesville, GA, Jonathan Turhan Marion, “Head”,  of Ft. Lauderdale, Toni Nicole Marion, “Tiny” of Tallahassee, Jazmyne Marie Marion of Tallahassee, Shontrelle Latrice Holliday of Pembroke Pines, and Patrick Donaldson of Ft. Lauderdale; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Yvonne Thompson (Bonnie), Valorie Reed (Christopher), and Sonya White (Anthony); one uncle Lonnie Marion, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
